Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday March 20th from 3:45 - 9:00PM. School will dismiss at 3:00PM. There will be NO after school program on Thursday. We hope to see everyone at conferences.
Mayville State University hosted Market Place for Kids last week. Miss Vangsness took her 6th graders on a field trip. They all had a great day! Their favorite part was learning about the culture of Japan.

Our Math Teacher, Miss Scheitel, educated students on Pi today through activities. We had a pi chain competition to see which class could construct the longest chain, our winner was 9th grade with 401 digits on their chain. We had a digits of pi memorization contest, our winner of the day being Izzy with 34 digits. Instead of doing the pi chain, the sophomores chose to do a Kahoot on pi day trivia and Nora was our victor! Students that didn’t want to compete in any of the competitions decided to draw with the Spirographs (circular drawing tools). Students enjoyed circle treats (cookies) and listened to the ASAP SCIENCE Pi Song (going over the first 100 digits of pi) while having their fun today!

Girls Varsity Basketball will take on Hatton Northwood at 5:30PM for 3rd place at the Region Girls Basketball Tournament at Devils Lake High School. Listen in on KMAV 105.5 FM.
The 1st graders have been learning about plants. Yesterday they were lucky enough to have a guest speaker, Jake Doll, to teach them even more! Jake is a F-S graduate. He has a bachelors of Environmental Science from UND with minors in biology, sustainability and dance. He is a research assistant and botanist in the Grassland Ecology Lab and is a grower at All Seasons in Grand Forks. He discussed many different kinds of plants and helped the 1st graders plant peas to take home with them. The first graders had a blast learning from Jake and they all wanted to know when they get to see him again. Thanks Jake! We very much appreciate all you did and taught our first graders yesterday!
Our math students competed in two meets this month. The first meet was in Hope (not pictured is Isaiah). The second meet was at Mayville State. The students are lead by Ms. Scheitel. They all had a great time participating.

What a fun night! Thank you to everyone who attended the school dance last night! Huge shout out to Finley Improvement for sponsoring the event and to Ms. Johnson for all her hard work!
Come dance the night away with us! Finley-Sharon school welcomes all students PK-12th grade and their families for a night of fun. School aged kids are welcome until 9PM. Families who will be attending with non-school aged children can get in on the fun until 7:30PM.
Consumer math students, taught by Ms. Scheitel, had the opportunity to tour Bravera Bank. They learned about credit, loans, different accounts and deposits. Huge thank you to Penny, Holly and Tiffany who left the students with lots of knowledge and gift bags!
