Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be observed next Monday, January 17th. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life to the nonviolent struggle for justice in ending segregation for African Americans in the US and to the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Each day this week, we will share some facts with you about Dr. King.
*Dr. King’s birth name was Michael, not Martin. His father was so inspired by Protestant Reformation leader, Martin Luther, that his father changed his own name, as well as his 5 year old son’s, to Martin.
*Dr. King entered college at the age of 15. He was a gifted student that skipped grades 9-12!

- K-6 Patrioteer Youth Wrestling will begin on January 18th and if you choose to participate, your parents will be responsible for giving you a ride. There is a Facebook page for more information…MPCG Wrestling Club.
- Information about the K-6 Little Spikers VB Camp at MaSU has been sent home with students. This camp is Saturday Mornings from 9:00-10:00am on January 22nd, 29th, and Feb. 5th. Cost is $60.00. For more info. contact Michelle Warren at 701 210-0200 or michelle.warren.2@mayvillestate.edu .
