Changes in North Dakota
As a result of legislative action , education requirements for students in North Dakota are changing. As part of the new legislation, ALL JUNIOR students are required to take the ACT or ACT WorkKeys unless otherwise stated in the student's IEP, 504 Service Plan or IEP . The test will be paid for by the school district.
Students will have the option of choosing whether they want to take the ACT test or the WorkKeys. Both tests will be held on March 17 and the make up date of March 31, 2015, location of testing to be determined to comply with standards.
WORKKEYS:
Career Readiness test cannot be used as a college admissions test
Contains 3 sections including: Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information (each 45 minutes in length)
Students who score well may be eligible for a National Career Readiness Certificate
Scoring a five (5) or higher in all three areas of the requirements that may qualify you for the ND Career and Technical Education Scholarship.
